One of our favourite steps in our morning eye makeup routine is applying eyeliner. With more virtual meetings at home and less social time with others, most have been swapping their makeup routine for a few extra zzz’s in the morning.

This is why we can all agree it’s time for an eyeliner refresher. Whether you love a dramatic, liquid wing or prefer something a bit more subtle and smoked out using pencil eyeliner, the below tips from our National Trainer Georgina are sure to get you back in the game and effortlessly applying liner in no time.

If it’s a winged eyeliner look you’re most concerned about mastering, we’ve recently shared a blog post all about how to get perfect wing every time (without using tape!). The below tips will teach you how to apply eyeliner specific to our liquid, pencil and gel varieties.

Black Magic Liquid

This brush and formula combination makes for a truly effortless line. Simply guide the tip of the painter-like eyeliner brush close to the root of the lashes and the eyeliner will glide on with ease.

Skinny Liquid

Our thinnest nib is great at creating a defined and chic look. Try dotting or applying small strokes in between the lashes to give a fuller look with a thick lash line.

Eye Do Liquid

This compact nib is perfect for control. With the tip angled toward the end of your brow and the base at the outer corner of your lashes try pressing it sideways against the skin for an easy flick, then line along the lash line for a finished look.

Sport Waterproof

Twist up for automatic application and glide along the waterline or around the lashes to add smokey definition. This eyeliner has a built-in sharpener on the opposite end to ensure your eyeliner is always on point.

Black Magic: Cocoa Edit Pencil

“I love using this eyeliner to give more soft definition around the eye area, but it’s also amazing as an eyeshadow base for creating smokier looks: glide it all over the eyelid and then pack your shadows on top for an intense look that’ll last ages!”

Black Magic: Cocoa Edit Liquid

For a cat-eye look, sweep along the lash line, stopping at the outer corner. Draw a line from the outer corner towards the tail of the brow, stopping when your wing is just the right size for you. From the end of the wing, glide the brush tip back to meet the lash line.
